Easter Sunday and the end of the road trip

We optimistically set our alarm for 5am intent on getting up to watch Easter Sunrise over the Grand Canyon. Our luck held, the sky cleared and God blessed us with a BEAUTIFUL Easter sunrise over the rim of the Canyon!

We shared it with a couple hundred other people, crazy enough to get up and brave the near freezing weather of the early morning hours.

There was a non-denominational sun rise service held on Mather Point.
Yes, that's snow!
I put on every layer of clothing I packed and stayed relatively warm - OK, so I am freezing here! But it was SO worth it!

After an amazing morning and several hundred photos, we hit the road and arrived home about 7pm. Tired, after covering 2250 miles, with a lot of wonderful memories about three thousand photos between the 3 of us! Thank goodness for digital photography!

Had no idea you went so far...seems you had an amazingly great time!
